This Sunday, January 2, four people died in a traffic accident at kilometer 64 of the route from Escuintla to Siquinalá, reported the Volunteer Firefighters.
The lifeguard Edwin de León pointed out that an extra-urban bus of the Transportes Flor de Mi Tierra with license plates C-676BQL and the agricultural-type truck P-228GHG, in which the four deceased were traveling, were involved in the accident.
They are Elder Portillo, 24 years old; Viviana Portillo, 20; Rosa Díaz, 15; and Mónica Pirique, 23, who, according to relatives, were returning from Retalhuleu to Palín, where they resided.
De León added that four other people were taken to a nearby hospital and another 12 were treated at the scene.
One of the injured who was transferred to the National Hospital of Escuintla is in a delicate condition.
