Another extraditable was captured on December 23, in an operation carried out by Agents of the General Subdirectorate for Anti-Drug Information Analysis (SGAIA).
The apprentice is Genry Ruperto Tuna Ojeda, 42, who has an arrest warrant for extradition to the United States.
Tuna Ojeda, also known as “Tacua”, was detained in Morenas village, Puerto Iztapa, Escuintla and is required to appear for trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, for the crimes of: illegal association for Manufacture and distribute, distribution and manufacture of five kilograms or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine.
According to an investigation carried out by the authorities, a drug trafficking organization operating through South, Central and North America since at least 2008 was identified, which was responsible for importing large quantities of cocaine into the United States.
Tuna Ojeda was identified as a member of the organization from approximately 2016 to at least March 2021 and was responsible for directing, managing and facilitating some of the organization’s drug trafficking activities in Guatemala.
With this capture, there are 68 extraditable detainees, of which 56 are for drug trafficking
