The Ministry of Health shared this Thursday, December 23, the list of vaccination centers against covid-19 that will provide service on December 24, 25 and 26.

According to the latest Health report, in Guatemala there are 6 million 443 thousand 3 people vaccinated with the first dose and 4 million 547 thousand 831 people with the second dose.

Recently, the Government of Guatemala expressed its fears of a rebound in covid-19 cases after the Christmas and New Year holidays, due to the relaxation of the population for the end of the year holidays.

The Minister of Public Health and Social Assistance, Francisco Coma, revealed that they have already had knowledge of “multiple infections” in some social gatherings and discos, but clarified that because the cases have been among young people “they have not had major effects.”

“It is very likely that the omicron variant is already in Guatemala,” but “we are waiting for the test results to be delivered on Monday or Tuesday of next week,” said the official.
