Leo Messi celebrates his seventh Ballon d’Or with the PSG fans at the Parque de los Príncipes

Acclaimed by the Parisian fans, Lionel Messi presented his seventh Ballon d’Or to the public present this Wednesday, December 1 at the Parc des Princes to witness live the match of matchday 16 of Ligue 1 between PSG and Nice.

In addition to the Argentine, the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has also presented the Yashin Trophy that distinguishes him as the best goalkeeper of 2021.

The two players exhibited their trophies, won on Monday, November 29 at night at a gala organized by France Football in Paris, on a platform installed on the same lawn with the slogan ‘Paris Golden City’ (“Paris City of Gold”).

That same slogan could be read on a giant poster installed at the VIP entrance of the Parc des Princes, as well as at the entrance of the club’s official store.

While the two players spoke a few words to the public, the fans chanted their names. The short ceremony ended with a fireworks display.

Messi won his seventh Ballon d’Or ahead of Bayern Münich’s Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

Both Messi and Donnarumma are starting with PSG, leaders of Ligue 1, to host Nice, third in the table.

The star, recovered from a gastroenteritis box that he suffered 48 hours ago after winning his seventh Ballon d’Or, premiered his new award with PSG.
